Putting on the nose-mouth mask

For a basic understanding of how to put on the mask, I will first refer you to the manufacturer's instructions and translate the whole thing for you.

Caution. The manufacturer's instructions only describe the basic procedure for patients who need ventilation for support and can still breathe independently while the mask is being changed. Since the mask is necessary for life support in my case, we have to reconnect the tube much earlier in my case, for example, and my ventilator is also never switched off. So the steps described here are only for basic illustration.

You can find out exactly how I change masks, with lots of sexy photos of me, in the "Mask change" section of the same name.

In good German: prepare the workplace. Prepare the mask, loosen the magnetic clips by turning them sideways.

The mask is placed on the face from below the front to fit. The mask is placed below the nose and put over the mouth. The nose is therefore above the mask and never inside the mask. The nose must never be inserted into the breathing hole of the mask cushion.

While one hand holds the mask and presses it firmly against my face so that I can breathe, you pull the headband over onto my head with the other hand. The emphasis is on head, they are all headbands and not collars.

Now attach the lower straps to the mask with the magnetic clips.

The top headband is very important to prevent leakage. It must be as far forward as possible at the top of the head (do not pull it backwards).
