It's actually been two days since I wrote this gibberish gibberish gibberish and published it on Facebook. I haven't even proofread it yet. Sorry for the typos and word errors. If you find any, you can keep them. So. With that said, now onto the actual text. By the way, you can find my public Facebook profile here: https://www.facebook.com/patrick.ruppelt
Wonderful photo that my carer has just taken of me. I could apply to Star Trek as a Borg with this. But that's already the mild version. Initially, I had monitoring via a sensor in my artery, which even sounded the alarm at the mere stimulus of a cough. That's an amazing number. It's fascinating what's possible these days.
And it's fascinating what crazy things can happen in the body. Yesterday's bronchoscopy revealed nothing. The subsequent ultrasound was all the better. My liver looks like something out of a textbook. No trace of the excessive consumption of everything I could get my hands on. Even the doctor was amazed. Apart from that, I have water retention under my lungs. Or at the bottom of the lungs, the doctor said today. Hm. So on the sono yesterday it looked like under the lungs. But I'm not an expert.
What sounds bad is probably not so rare and can be easily treated. I receive diuretics intravenously and also as tablets. What sounds complicated is simply dehydration of the body. During my first two weeks in intensive care, I had fluids pumped in through all my body orifices, but now we are drawing the water out of my body again. Of course, one has nothing to do with the other. But it reads so beautifully. The actual cause is thought to be a narrowing of the pufi, caused by the stitches. Could it explain the frequent urge to urinate since the pufi was placed and the frequent "drainage problems". Since the weekend, I've also had a normal catheter for the second time since I've been here. I already wanted to call the 24-hour pipe cleaning emergency service. Emergency pipe-cleaning service, what a word. Something like that only exists in the German language. Well, other things are only available in English - until now. Take a look at my new shop. The proceeds go to nature conservation. So we all get something out of it.
Oh yes, I might be going home tomorrow. And then only continue treatment with tablets. Let's see. I'm more on the side that this time everything will really be tip-top when I'm discharged. I still like being here and feel that I'm in good hands. But I don't need another trip to hospital for the holidays.
