Dear Diary,
Well, this is really something cool that I was finally able to set up with the active support of my sister. The hardware has been installed and connected for ages and three days. But setting up the various necessary apps has not been that easy so far.
But the current result fits. I think this is one of the most useful functions of all. Not only in the event that the parcel delivery person rings into the void because my carer outside smoking doesn't notice anything - which I can't have at all if my alarm isn't even heard. But the main thing is to call your own mum every day during working hours. I really ask myself how it can be that such behaviour in care is apparently accepted by everyone except me. Another topic.
It proves to be very practical on the very first morning after commissioning. When the day service rings, we are in the middle of vacuuming. In the past, you would have had to run to the door. Today, a simple voice command is enough.
We'll be using this a lot when we change shifts. I am sure of that. Because it was moved over my head and against my will to 9 am or 9 pm. I had expressed my concerns,
- You will often get stuck in rush-hour traffic. And take about every motorway closure due to an accident.
- No one will have time for a handover because everyone will be notoriously late.
- In the morning we will be busy with coffee, breakfast, inhalation and coughing during the shift change. And in the evening with the corresponding evening programme. Or with smoking.
According to the PDL, the change serves to improve my care. Complete nonsense. Turns out I was right. Again. The PDL has no idea what he is talking about. That's a shame. Anyway, on to another topic.
So now I have at least made the best of it for myself. Now there's no reason to run to the door while I'm at work and then go out for the supposed handover. Wink smiley.
