Hi, how are you today? I know it's Sunday, but my work as an environmental activist doesn't recognise weekends. Nature needs us more than ever. If we humans carry on as we are, the future could look bleak. Positive change is possible - and that's why I'm writing to you today. 🐋💙

When my carer put a T-shirt from Paul Watson's collection on me today and my parents happened to send me a donation receipt from the Captain Paul Watson Foundation as a birthday present, I just had to go for it. Watson is one of the last true heroes of our time. He has dedicated his entire life to saving the oceans and especially the whales. And now he needs our support.

Paul Watson has been in custody for months. The Japanese authorities accuse him of attacking a whaling ship more than a decade ago. However, contrary to popular belief, Watson has not been convicted by an international court. In fact, his arrest is based on a national arrest warrant from Japan, which was circulated via Interpol as a so-called "Red Notice". However, a "red notice" is not a legally valid international arrest warrant - it is a wanted notice that does not oblige other countries to arrest or extradite him.

It is now up to Denmark to decide whether Watson will be extradited to Japan, where he faces the threat of an unfair trial. Time is pressing, because while Watson is in custody, the Japanese whaling ships continue their controversial hunts for endangered species.

Paul Watson's commitment to nature has saved countless animals from death and protected marine life. Now it's up to us to give something back to him. With your donation, you can help support Watson's legal fight and ensure that he can continue his mission: Saving the oceans and therefore the entire planet.
