Why the effort?

Anyone who has ever built a members' area with the option of making donations by credit card knows that this is not something that can be done in one or two hours. After that, everything needs to be tested and if you have a dear sister like me, she will find every mistake on the page. So what's the point? Two reasons. So far. Who knows what else I can think of. Oops, that's three reasons already.

Family only

There are a few things that are a family matter. I would probably have posted them on Facebook in the past. But that's now an uncontrollable aberration. I have far too many contacts with whom my connection is far too loose for me to want to share my family's private content.

Followers

Some things simply don't belong on the web. Of course, I can black out my name everywhere, but my name is in the imprint and, as required by law, my birthday is in the commercial register for everyone to see, free of charge and publicly. And I really don't want to make it that easy to steal my identity.

Contributor

Everyone can make a contribution to species conservation. Not everyone has to go vegan like me and invest in geothermal power plants in India or solar cookers for Africa every year to offset their ecological footprint.

But hand on heart, do you know anyone who would be broken-hearted to invest €1 a month in species conservation? No, not me either.

Does it hurt you to give me €1 every month so that I invest many hours of my life researching options, digging for information about the programmes I choose - which I do for myself anyway - and I invest your euro where I think it's credibly well spent? Where I will probably spend another four-figure sum this year. Because I stand by what I say.
